12 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari

Day 1, Arrival at Entebbe Airport
On arrival at the Airport, you will be welcomed by our company representative. Depending on the time of your arrival, Early arrivals will enable you visit some places in Entebbe like Botanical gardens, Snake Parks and the Entebbe Zoo. However with late and evening arrivals, your driver guide will transfer you to your Hotel in Kampala for dinner, refreshments and overnight stay at Serena Hotel or Sheraton Hotel (Luxury)/ Cassia Lodge (Midrange)/Excellent Hotel or Ministers Village Hotel or Hotel Sojovaro (Budget)

Day 2, Transfer from Kampala to Semliki National Park
After breakfast in the morning, our company guide will pick you up from your hotel to transfer to Semliki National Park via Mityana-Mubende road with an en route stopover at the historical Nakayima tree Have lunch in Fort Portal and later continue to Semliki. The Park is made up of diverse habitats that explain the diversity of different tree, animal, primate and bird species. En route to the park, you will be able to have sights of the beautiful lush green environment and roadside cliffs. Dinner and overnight stay at Semliki Safari Lodge (Luxury)/Hotel Vanilla (mid range)/UWA campsite (Budget)

Day 3, Full day Nature walks in Semliki National Park                               
After a morning breakfast at your hotel, you will leave for a guided nature walk in the vast extension of the Ituri forest where you will be rewarded with sights of early risers like primates, birds, and different animal species from the far. You will trail through the two main springs set in a lush swampy clearing close to the south eastern corner of the forest. Expect to spot different bird species like the yellow throated tinker bird, horn-bills, red-rumped and Frasier’s ant-thrush, blue-breasted King fisher and honey guide greenbul. Also look out for different primate species in the forest like the red-tailed monkey, grey checked Mangabey and Black and white colobus monkeys.  Have a picnic lunch in the Park and later visit the Mungilo water fall which may reward you with excellent views of the hornbill species. Also visit the Eastern boundary of the Semliki River which may also expose you to a variety of water birds, monkey’s hippos and crocodiles. Day 4, Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After a morning breakfast, you will drive to Fort portal for lunch. You will also be rewarded with the spectacular view of the magnificent scenery of the Rwenzori Mountains and the local home stead as you proceed to Kibale Forest National Park. Upon arrival at the Park you will take a guided nature walk to explore around the Bunyaruguru crater region. Dinner overnight at Primates lodge (Luxury)/ Chimp’s nest (Midrange)/Chimpanzee Guest house (Budget).

Day 5, Chimp Tracking and Bigodi Swamp walk
Upon having breakfast in the morning at your lodge, you will go for the life time Chimpanzee tracking experience in their natural environment and habitat. You will first report to the Park Headquarters at Kanyachu for a briefing about the chimp trackers code of conduct by a UWA official and then later go for the morning chimpanzee tracking experience. You will penetrate into the forest under the guidance of an armed ranger for the tracking.  Besides the chimps, you may spot other primates and these include: Varvet Monkey, L’hoest, Blue Monkey, Red-Tailed Monkey, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Black And White Colobus Monkey and many more. Return back to the lodge for Lunch and later go for the afternoon Bigodi swamp walk to search for different bird species. Dinner and overnight at Primates lodge (Luxury)/ Chimp’s nest (Midrange)/Chimpanzee Guest house (Budget).

Day 6, Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you will leave Kibale Forest National Park and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park which is the most popular protected area with a stunning location on the rift valley floor between Lakes Edward and George. En route to the Park you will enjoy a game drive that will expose you to different wildlife species such as Elephants, Buffalos, Uganda Kob and if you are lucky, you may also spot the Hyena, Lions, Leopard and perhaps the Giant Forest Hog. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya safari lodge or Jacana Safari Lodge (Luxury)/Hippo Hills camp or Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge (mid range)/ Simba safari lodge (Budget)

Day 7, Game drive and afternoon Launch cruise
After your breakfast, you will go for the morning game drive in Kasenyi area to search for different wildlife animals missed out in the previous game drive. Later visit the Katwe explosion craters. Here you will spot Kitagata Lake and the enormous Kamengo Crater and this will give you clear view of different wildlife around the Park. In the afternoon, go for the launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel where you will be rewarded with wildlife sights of species like the Hippopotamuses, Waterbucks, Crocodiles and a variety of Water Birds like the black bee- eater, several species of falcons and the raptors. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya safari lodge or Jacana Safari Lodge (Luxury)/Hippo Hills camp or Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge (mid range)/ Simba safari lodge (Budget)

Day 8, Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park via the Ishasha sector commonly known for the rare tree climbing lions. These are basically found in the tall fig trees and acacia trees. Have lunch at Ishasha as you spot the hippos in the Ishasha River. You may also spot buffaloes, leopards, Kob and topis on the plains of the area. Proceed to Bwindi for refreshments, dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Resort or Mahogany Springs or Gorilla Forest Camp (Luxury)/Lake Kitandara or Buhoma Lodge (Midrange)/Buhoma Community Bandas or wagtail eco safari camp (Budget)

Day 9, Gorilla tracking
After breakfast, you will report to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about the mountain gorilla trackers code of conduct. Later you will penetrate through the impenetrable forest for a more adventurous and exciting lifetime experience of Mountain Gorilla tracking.  You are all reminded to go with your packed lunch and bottled water since the tracking duration depends on the ease to see the gorilla that day and where they slept the previous night. Besides the Gorillas, you will also spot other forest wildlife like the Black and White Colobus Monkeys, Red Tailed Colobus, Blue Monkey, L’hoests and baboons and many more. Retire for dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Resort or Mahogany Springs or Gorilla Forest Camp (Luxury)/Lake Kitandara or Buhoma Lodge (Midrange)/Buhoma Community Bandas or wagtail eco safari camp (Budget)

Day 10, Transfer to Lake Mburo
You will leave Bwindi after breakfast and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park with lunch en route in Mbarara town. Upon reaching lake Mburo, you will go for the afternoon boat trip along Lake Mburo that will expose you to the park’s wildlife such as the hippos and a variety of water birds that may include the African Fin foot, Pelicans, Black crake, Heron, cormorant, fish eagle if lucky you will spot the rare shoebill stork . Dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge or Mantana Luxury Tented Camp (Luxury)/ Rwonyo Camp (Budget)/ Arcadia cottages (Mid range)

Day 11, Game drive and transfer to Kampala
After breakfast, you will go for the morning game drive to search for the early risers. Drive through the humid acacia forest and expect to see animals like the Giant eland, Impala and Burchell’s zebra, Buffalo, Oribis, Waterbucks, Reedbuck and the Rare Sitatunga. Thereafter depart for Kampala with an en route lunch stopover at the Equator. Proceed to Kampala for dinner, refreshments and overnight stay at Serena Hotel or Sheraton Hotel (Luxury)/ Cassia Lodge (Midrange)/Excellent Hotel or Ministers Village Hotel or Hotel Sojovaro (Budget)

Day 12, Departure
After breakfast, will go for final shopping in Kampala area or Entebbe provided time is allowing. Depending on your departure flight time, you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport to catch your flight back home.
