8 Days Rwanda Uganda Primates Safari

Day 1, Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, the driver will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala and then be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park. En route to the Park, you will stopover for souvenir shopping at the equator and you will get a chance of witnessing the water experiment at this very spot. After the water experiment, you will proceed to Mbarara town for Lunch. You will proceed with your journey after lunch and reach Mweya in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya safari lodge or Jacana Safari Lodge (Luxury)/Hippo Hills camp or Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge (mid range)/ Simba safari lodge (Budget)

Day 2, Game drive and afternoon Launch cruise
After your breakfast, you will go for the morning game drive in Kasenyi area to search for different wildlife animals missed out in the previous game drive. Later visit the Katwe explosion craters. Here you will spot Kitagata Lake and the enormous Kamengo Crater and this will give you clear view of different wildlife around the Park. In the afternoon, go for the launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel where you will be rewarded with wildlife sights of species like the Hippopotamuses, Waterbucks, Crocodiles and a variety of Water Birds like the black bee- eater, several species of falcons and the raptors. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya safari lodge or Jacana Safari Lodge (Luxury)/Hippo Hills camp or Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge (mid range)/ Simba safari lodge (Budget)

Day 3, Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park via the Ishasha sector commonly known for the rare tree climbing lions. These are basically found in the tall fig trees and acacia trees. Have lunch at Ishasha as you spot the hippos in the Ishasha River. You may also spot buffaloes, leopards, Kob and topis on the plains of the area. Proceed to Bwindi for refreshments, dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Resort or Mahogany Springs or Gorilla Forest Camp (Luxury)/Lake Kitandara or Buhoma Lodge (Midrange)/Buhoma Community Bandas or wagtail eco safari camp (Budget)

Day 4, Gorilla tracking
After breakfast, you will report to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about the mountain gorilla trackers code of conduct. Later you will penetrate through the impenetrable forest for a more adventurous and exciting lifetime experience of Mountain Gorilla tracking.  You are all reminded to go with your packed lunch and bottled water since the tracking duration depends on the ease to see the gorilla that day and where they slept the previous night. Besides the Gorillas, you will also spot other forest wildlife like the Black and White Colobus Monkeys, Red Tailed Colobus, Blue Monkey, L’hoests and baboons and many more. Retire for dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Resort or Mahogany Springs or Gorilla Forest Camp (Luxury)/Lake Kitandara or Buhoma Lodge (Midrange)/Buhoma Community Bandas or wagtail eco safari camp (Budget)

Day 5, Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, you leave the Northern sector of Queen Elizabeth and proceed to the Southern sector called Ishasha and is commonly known for its rare tree climbing lions. During the hot hours of the day, lions of this area enjoy resting lying on top of Figs trees and it is exciting to see this spectacular spot. Have lunch en route in Ishasha and then continue with your journey and reach Lake Bunyonyi by evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Arcadia Cottages/ Heritage Lodge

Day 6, Transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda
After breakfast, you will enjoy a morning boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi for scenic views and bird watching. The lake has forested and green Islands which habits different bird and wildlife species. Return back to your lodge for lunch and after proceed to Rwanda through the border after Kisoro and at the footsteps of Muhavura volcano.  you will arrive at Volcanoes National Park in time for dinner and overnight stay at Kinigi Guest House (Budget)/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Mid range)/ Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)

Day 7, Mountain Gorilla tracking
After breakfast, you will transfer to the Park headquarters at 7:00am for a briefing from the ORTPN Ranger guides. After this, you will be accompanied by your ranger guide and start your trek into the forest to search for the habituated Mountain Gorilla family allocated to your group. You are reminded to bring with you packed lunch and bottled Mineral water. In terms of clothes, trekking boots, long sleeved shirts and blouses, rain coats, and Cameras are highly recommended for the trek. The time you will spend in the forest searching for the Gorillas is not predictable as it depends on where they spend the last night. Once you come across the Gorillas, all the troubles you have gone through to reach them will be easily forgotten and instead utilize the1 hour you have with them to get a great experience. You can observe them in terms of behaviors as well as taking photographs. Return to the lodge for refreshments, dinner and overnight stay at Kinigi Guest House (Budget)/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Mid range)/ Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury)

Day 8, Transfer to Kigali and departure
After breakfast, you will transfer to Kigali where upon arrival, you will go for a Kigali city tour and visit places like the cultural and traditional sites such as the handicraft markets, the local markets, the museum and the Genocide memorial and the education center. After this, you will transfer to the Airport for your outbound flight back home
